Robert Lewandowski enjoys his holiday after his probably last season at FC Bayern Munich – and challenges tennis legend Rafael Nadal to a duel.
Mallorca – Sadio Mané is here! FC Bayern Munich presented its king transfer on Wednesday. And fans have kindly noticed what a humble and down-to-earth guy this 30-year-old global star is. Again and again he was asked at the press conference (the most important statements to read) that he is the new galleon figure in the Bundesliga. The striker always responded politely and reserved and always put the success of the team in the foreground.
When asked what position he would like to play in, he referred with a shy smile to coach Julian Nagelsmann, who was sitting in the audience, and said: “The right man to answer this question is sitting here.” Just one request he had: Please do not place yourself in goal or in defense, for that would not necessarily be conducive to success. Munich will certainly take this wish into account.
FC Bayern introduce Sadio Mané: Robert Lewandowski continues to send photos from the holiday
It was also noticeable to the bosses: Sadio Mané is an absolute stroke of luck, both athletically and personally. The fans, so much so one should also be sure, will not find it hard quickly to forget the former star striker: We are talking, of course, about Robert Lewandowski. The goal scorer of recent years has fallen into disfavor after his public calls for a change, most recently he has repeatedly appeared smiling on the beaches of the world. Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic stress again and again these days that they expect Lewandowski to start training on Säbener Straße. The transfer to FC Barcelona this summer is still very likely.
The 33-year-old has been in Spain for the past few days, specifically on the Balearic island of Mallorca. The Lewandowski family owns a villa there and explores the entire island from the town of Calvia. Robert and his wife Anna share impressive photos from their vacation every day.
Robert Lewandowski plays tennis on vacation and feels ready for Rafael Nadal
However, it’s not just casual: the world footballer is now sweating on the tennis court, as can be seen from his Instagram story. Lewandowski hit a couple of balls over the net on the sand, a coach had thrown them to him, one could not see an opponent. Therefore, the Noch-Bayern striker asked directly during the video: “Ready for the game, Rafael Nadal?” In German: “Ready for the game, Rafael Nadal?”
Did the tennis legend, who comes from Mallorca, add a little match after Lewandowski’s warm-up program? Out of the question, the 14-time French Open winner is currently preparing for Wimbledon and recently surprisingly lost a training match against Lewandowski’s compatriot Kamil Majchrzak. Nadal has not yet gotten used to playing on grass.

Lewandowski and Nadal together on the tennis court in the future?
Maybe there will be a meeting in the future – when Lewandowski plays in Barcelona, not far from his Mallorcan holiday home, and Nadal is in the mood for a relaxed training match. Bayern fans do not care, they have after all their new favorite in Mané, which Jürgen Klopp said goodbye to with touching words. (acl)
