Sascha Wingenfeld has worked as an athletic trainer and personal trainer for more than 20 years. In Rhön, he runs the company “proVita Coaching” and takes care as personal trainer of his athletes and customers’ fitness and performance. FITBOOK: What sport did you playktiv before you became an athletic trainer and personal trainer?
Sascha Wingenfeld: “I’re originally from the Olympic triathlon sector and got to know a lot of coaches and training methods – and filtered the best ones out to my clients. I’ve been able to celebrate some national and international successes over the years, and that’s right, what I want to pass on to my athletes. That’s also what you want to experience in camp. For what I learned from competitive and professional sports, I’m now trying to convert to leisure and upscale hobby areas so you can celebrate your successes. on the best possible way.”

“You have to have a goal and be willing to torment yourself sometimes

Hobby athletes who want to train for performance come to you. What is important?
Wingenfeld: “First of all, if you want to train for performance, it is important to be willing to torture yourself. The second is: having a goal. How would you measure your performance if you did not have a goal? Whether it’s the next road race at a certain speed, or you want to reduce your weight, or just want to look better – define it for yourself and pay attention to exactly what it is. When you can see your progress and know how far you are from your goal, it is also much easier to keep your motivation high. Then it can sometimes hurt, or you’re bothering yourself because you know that at some point you can achieve success for it. ”

What can you convert from competitive sports to hobby sports?
Wingenfeld: “Everything we can get to know and try in competitive and professional sports, we can convert it to the smallest level, to the normal athlete. That does not mean you have to go to the same intensities, reps or speeds. But the body’s own processes are the same, so you can use the approach perfectly from competitive sports to hobby sports, perhaps to achieve more quality and the best possible goal with less effort. “

What course will you offer at FITBOOK Beach Camp?
Wingenfeld: “My camp is about endurance sports, especially running. As an endurance trainer and running trainer, I want to show you all the things you can activate with your body’s own throttle handles to make your running training even easier. In addition, I am busy with high-intensity training, ie: What endurance performance can you achieve by working with your own body weight or with small equipment. My favorite course that I can only recommend to everyone is the so-called ‘Hurricane Workout’. We try to whirl like a hurricane through our conditioning zones to improve our endurance performance. It hurts a little, but it’s a lot of fun, and I hope the sun is shining and we can do it all by the sea. ”
