Frenkie de Jong may leave FC Barcelona in the coming weeks. According to a report by Gerard Romero, the transfer to Manchester United is “95 percent” decided. Barça wanted to collect a nice transfer fee – and therefore apparently encourages the Dutchman to make a change.
Manchester United: Frenkie de Jong probably shortly before the change
FC Barcelona may be on the verge of losing one of its big stars. As reported by the normally well-informed journalist Gerard Romero, Frenkie de Jong seems to be on the verge of a switch to Manchester United. The transfer would therefore be a “purely financial matter”, Barça would urgently need revenue – on the one hand to pick up summer newcomers, but on the other hand to register them for the match.

Before the league final and with a 95% probability, Frenkie De Jong was transferred to Manchester United. It is a purely economic and duro topic. The Barça needed to sell a player that the club did not have top side

Barça could get 80 m for Frenkie de Jong
Although there is still no information on the status of negotiations between the clubs, the probability of the move, according to Romero’s report, is “95 percent”. The rumored transfer fee should be in the range of 70 and 80 million euros. In the summer of 2019, Barça de Jong signed for 86 million from Ajax Amsterdam.
However, Romero also points out that the change has not yet been decided and “the situation may still change”. However, Barça are aware that the Dutchman would lose value unless he shows a major performance improvement in the coming season.
Barça dismissed transfer rumors – Soler possible successor
Rumors of a possible sale of De Jong have been circulating in recent weeks, but Barça have already rejected these – was it just to not jeopardize negotiations with United?
Xavi has repeatedly emphasized the importance of the Dutchman to him recently. “Frenkie makes the difference. He has had some excellent matches this season. He has the ability to get into the penalty area and score goals, I told him that personally. I do not see many players with his qualifications at this level. It is very important for the present and the future. “
But now it seems that De Jong’s future may not lie with FC Barcelona, who are said to be more than open to a move – despite Xavi’s praise. Meanwhile, De Jong himself is said to want to stay at Barça, although he has recently been replaced too soon and was probably not exactly happy about it. “We had a very positive one-on-one conversation. Replacing Rayo frustrated him, he is very ambitious,” Xavi recently admitted. It appears that Blaugrana is forcing the 24-year-old to leave due to financial reasons.
Frenkie de Jong to Man United? Barça’s motto: ‘We do not want to sell him’
FC Barcelona may even have a successor to De Jong ready. The club has recently been said to have a strong interest in Valencia’s Carlos Soler. It rejected his club shortly after, but how little such words could be worth can be seen – if Romero’s report is correct – in the current situation around de Jong.
Other media also report on Manchester United’s general interest, but formulate it much more cautiously – because there should reportedly have been no concrete negotiations. that Manchester Evening News writes that “reports of an impending agreement are far out.” However, United are interested and will “weigh a transfer”. De Jong would be “the ideal candidate” for ManUnited’s midfielder and new coach Erik ten Hag’s dream player.
Frenkie de Jong key: what’s going on between Barca and Carlos Soler?
SPORT like Mundo Deportivo writes in the meantime that Barça are not yet sure internally whether they will sell De Jong, they would not actively offer the Dutchman to other clubs. With a high supply, however, Blaugrana could become weak.
At Manchester United, Frenkie de Jong wanted to meet his former Ajax coach Erik ten Hag, who will take the helm there from this summer. In addition, Donny van de Beek is also under contract with the Red Devils, who played with de Jong in midfield in Amsterdam.
