Budberg got off to a good start

The promoted SVB men started the summer season with newcomer Mirza Basic at the top with a 7: 2 victory in Dinslaken. The Asberger women lost 7-2 in Düsseldorf.

Men’s tennis SV Budberg was online for the first time in the club’s history in the Niederrheinligaen – and immediately collected the first points. The promoted team won 7-2 on the first day of play in Group 1 at the Dinslakener TG Blau-Weiss facility. “Of course it can continue like this,” said captain Mario Lesic, who was particularly pleased that many Budberg fans were there.

Bosnian Mirza Basic, the new number one of SVB, experienced a tailor-made debut. The 30-year-old Davis Cup player defeated Dominik Pfeiffer 6-1, 6-0 in the best individual. The other two professionals in the Budberg team, the Croatian Sabanov twins, also had some trouble winning their matches. Matej Sabanov beat Joris Bodin 6: 0, 6: 1, his brother Ivan Roderik Franken 6: 3, 6: 4. Because Vincent van den Honert had resigned the day before the match, Lesic slipped into the team. The veteran also defeated Daniel Lingen in two sets (6: 4, 6: 1).

In sixth place, Sven André contributed the fifth individual point by beating Christian Hörscher 6: 4, 6: 0. Only Simon Pfau had to congratulate his opponent. The youngster was twice defeated by Luuk van Randwijk 4: 6. Pfau also lost his doubles match with Tom Hübel 3: 6, 4: 6. Sabanovs were busy in the top double and put Pfeifer / Hörscher in their place 6: 0, 6: 1. Basic / Lesic should do more for their points against Bodin / van Randtwijk (7: 5, 6: 3).

The Budbergers continue on Saturday at 1 pm with the match at TC Kaiserswerth. Then the Hungarian Kristijan Juhas makes his debut with the promotions, for whom even after the round in the beginning only counts to stay up in the league, as Lesic noted.

The ladies in TC Idrætspark Asberg and the Lower Rhine League. At TC Blau-Schwarz Düsseldorf they lost clearly 2: 7. The weakened climber was already 0: 3 behind after the first round. Britt Schreuder, Mareike Rohrbach and Lotte van de Heuwel each failed to win a set in their individual games. Things went better for the visitors in the second half. Ajla Efendic also smoked empty-handed, but Lani Tümmers and Daphne van de Heuwel shortened the hole to 2-4. In the doubles, however, Düsseldorf, who relegated to the regional league, quickly made things clear. Only Schreuder / Tümmers managed to equalize the set 1: 1, but then lost 7:10 in the Champions tie-break.

“It’s certainly not the best start you can imagine,” admitted Asberg’s sporting director Dietmar Hirschel. “Due to a few failures, we knew in advance that it would be difficult. Still, I do not think we really needed to lose. Britt and Mareike were not entirely happy with their performance. If they were in top form, they would both have had a good chance of winning. ”
