Vettel: “Should have handled it better”
We have a first statement from Vettel about the crash with Schumacher. “I still have to look at it. Of course, it’s a shame we touched and we both didn’t get points,” he says.
“We should have arranged it better. I have to look at it again,” Vettel said. He has not yet spoken to Schumacher. “I’ve been checking where he is all along,” he reveals.
Mike climbs up
Unfortunately only in this photo series. He also failed to score any points in his 26th Formula 1 race today. Thereby he came on par with Ricardo Rosset. Hopefully we can remove him from this statistic soon!

Alonso apologizes to Gasly
The Spaniard has just apologized to Gasly for the crash. Incidentally, it appears that Alonso is no longer threatened with further punishment. He can keep P9 with it. And that would be the end of all the investigations if we have not overlooked anything.
Schumacher: “It’s a shame for both of us”
The other German is also forgiving after the crash and explains to ‘Sky’: “Of course it’s always easy to talk about it afterwards. If you look at it that way, I could have just stayed behind or tried harder to drive past.”
“In the end, it’s a shame, a shame for both of us. I will definitely talk to him about it,” he announces.
Leclerc: Medium was the problem
“It was physically a very difficult race,” Monegasse reports, explaining: “We had some problems on the medium-sized tires, especially in the first round, and were overtaken.”
On the hard deck, you were “very competitive”. In the end, though, Red Bull simply had a better pace today. “But it was fun,” Leclerc said.
The Ferrari driver continues to lead the World Championship. He is now only 19 points ahead of Verstappen.

When you think you’ve seen everything in Formula 1 … then I just leave it without comment.
Warning for Alonso
Let’s continue: Alonso receives a warning for exceeding the track limits. However, we are not sure if that means giving an advantage or if he is still facing a penalty for doing so.
We’re keeping an eye on that, everything’s a little confusing right now …
Penalties against Magnussen & Ricciardo
Magnussen receives a five-second penalty for the walk-in number. But it does not matter to him either, for he parked his Haas one lap before the end. At least the decisions come quickly today.
Ricciardo will also be penalized for gaining an off-field advantage. Also five seconds. He drops back to P13, but still would not have scored in the eleventh.
The decision is already there: “NO FURTHER ACTION” is the name of the scene between Schumacher and Vettel. Unbelievable that there was not even a hearing. But because both did not score anyway, it does not matter …
There is still trouble
Not just for the Schumacher-Vettel scene. Magnussen and Stroll also touched again and Alonso apparently gained an advantage by leaving the field. Of course we keep an eye on it all.
Step away winner!
It was hectic again in the end! But nothing happens ahead, Verstappen wins ahead of Leclerc, Sainz and Perez. Here in the ticker, we will calmly work through it all again. Before the overview:
Schumacher and Vettel crash together!
That can not be right … Both were on course for points – and then they crash! In addition, the race stewards are looking at it again. But a penalty would not matter now, with points it will be nothing for both of them.
Leclerc is putting pressure on
Verstappen hurried in front of the safety car, now Leclerc is pushing again. He is in the DRS window, the matter is unresolved here! Bottas makes a mistake behind and has to let both Mercedes drivers through. Russell overtakes Hamilton on the fresher tires.
No punishment to Magnussen or Stroll otherwise.
There was a quarrel between Magnussen and Stroll, the race directors are looking at it. Still no overtaking maneuvers up front. But now the DRS has been released. This could be the chance for Perez, for example!
Skip finder restarts
Continue! The verstappen remains in front after the end of the safety car. But of course the field is now very close to each other everywhere. Let’s see what happens here!
punish to Alonso
It was manageable: Alonso gets a five-second penalty. Meanwhile, Perez used the safety car for a free stop. He has fresh media now and is right behind the Ferraris on old hard tires.
Other drivers also play and stop again. This throws the field around again a lot. Will be a hot last phase!
I should not have said it too loudly … Norris and Gasly crash, VSC comes first, now the real safety car. This is the chance Russell has been waiting for. Meanwhile, Alonso is threatened with trouble as there was also contact with Gasly beforehand.
