Hamburg in the playoffs, Bamberg continues to win, Crailsheim and Göttingen lose their feathers

Hamburg Towers are already seven play-offs in the BBL. Bamberg moved into pole position for the last ticket because Crailsheim and Göttingen suffered defeats.

Champion and cup winner Alba Berlin has won its ninth victory in a row and remains on the heels of leading Telekom Baskets Bonn. The capital clearly defeated MLP Academics Heidelberg 110: 70 (51:34) on the last regular match day, and with 50:12 points with three matches to catch up, they still have the chance to finish the main round as number one.

In the evening, table leader Telekom Baskets Bonn surprisingly lost feathers at Niners Chemnitz and lost 68:90 (36:41). With 50:12 points and three matches to catch up, Berlin still has the opportunity to finish the main round as number one. Bonn (52:16) has already played all 34 matches

Bayern ready for Barça

Meanwhile, FC Bayern Munich was ready for the big Euroleague challenge against FC Barcelona. Two days before the play-off match against the Catalans, the Munich team clearly won 92:57 (48:23) over s.Oliver Würzburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday night. National player Andreas Obst was the best pitcher with 18 points for the hosts, who will be challenged in the fifth and decisive match in Barcelona on Tuesday night (20.00) and want to be the first German team in Euroleague history to reach the Final Four. This will take place in Belgrade from 19 to 21 May.

Close race for eighth place

Meanwhile, Hamburg Towers got the seventh of eight play-off tickets with 101: 57 (53:31) at Systainics MBC Weißenfels, for whom nothing is at stake this season.

In the race for eighth place, former league champion Brose Bamberg (84:68 against Braunschweig) has the best prospects, but must be careful because Hakro Merlin’s Crailsheim (90: 100 aet), who is two points behind, won the direct comparison. Both teams have one match left to play. Also still in the running is BG Göttingen, who played an even better starting position away with 87:90 against Jobstairs Gießen 46ers. Göttingen is right on point with Crailsheim.

Former champion Fraport Skyliners, already relegated, said goodbye to Pro A with success, Frankfurt defeated medi Bayreuth 82:70 (48:39).

Due to several corona-related postponements over the course of the season, the matches in the main round will be made up to May 11th. Only then does the playoffs begin with the top eight teams in the regular season.
