No point to the former perfectionist Leclerc

(Motorsport-Total.com) – Charles Leclerc’s dominance is broken – but it’s no surprise after the weekend. After three victories in the first three races in Imola, the Ferrari driver was only number 13 in our traditional selection and got no points.

In return, his biggest competitor in the World Cup (both the real one and ours) is closing in on him again. Max Verstappen also secured the victory in our driver ratings with his Grand Slam. With the clear top grade of 1.1, the Dutchman is today’s driver for the first time this year.

In addition to the 1st from the editorial staff and Marc Surer, Verstappen also received the best rating of 1.3 of the more than 1,000 users who voted this time. Second place went to Lando Norris, who also got a 1 from Surer, but “only” a 2 from the editorial staff for his two departures in Acque Minerali.

Third place went to Sebastian Vettel, who scored on our rankings for the first time this year. Although the Aston Martin driver was only in fifth place among readers (2.1), the editorial team’s 1 put the German on the podium ahead of George Russell and Yuki Tsunoda.

The Japanese was the “man of the race” for Surer and got a 1 from him, but readers only rated the AlphaTauri driver with 2.3 and thus significantly worse than Sergio Perez (1.8). But when the Mexican did not get 1 in the other two columns, he only became number six.

Valtteri Bottas (7th) would only have gotten a 1 from the expert if he had overtaken George Russell, but was like Alexander Albon (8th) again able to place himself well. There was also the first point for Lance Stroll (9th).

Charles Leclerc only got an overall grade of 3.9 after his mistake, but was even better placed than teammate Carlos Sainz, who got a 4 from all three columns. Far down the rankings this time is Lewis Hamilton, who got the penultimate place for his performance in Imola.

Marc Surer gave it a 5, and readers gave it a rating of 4.6. Only Mick Schumacher was rated worse, who got a 5 from the editorial staff and Surer (despite a nice sprint, as the Swiss emphasizes) and also got the worst rating of the readers with 4.7.

that The idea behind our grading is to evaluate the performance on a weekend and especially during grades (1 = very good, 6 = unsatisfactory). External influences that drivers cannot control themselves should be ignored. And so that not only the editorial staff has to make a subjective assessment, as is the case with football magazines, we have created a total of three equal columns with the readers and the experts.

The ultimate driver ranking Emilia-Romagna 2022:

And this is how we calculate:
We determine the average based on the average rating of the Motorsport-Total.com users, the rating of the expert Marc Surer and the rating of our editors. Our driver ranking is the result of this average value. We only show one decimal, but we use all decimals for the calculation. These decimals, some of which are not visible, determine the order in which two drivers are ranked if they have the same rating.

The driver ratings for the 2022 World Cup:
