New corona rules apply: what to consider in the gym now

Fitness studios are now trying to attract new customers with offers. In some gyms, sports enthusiasts can even convert their old contract to a new contract and train for 4.99 euros a week.

The Corona situation has eased. Germany opens up – also in the gym.

Because the number of corona cases in Germany is falling and the hospitalization rate is at a low level, the federal and state governments have lifted many restrictions in public life. From 20 March, even all “in-depth” corona measures should be dropped.

Since the beginning of March, most Germans have had to comply with the 3G rule indoors. This means that those who have been vaccinated must have their vaccination confirmation, those who have received their health certificate and those who have not been vaccinated need a quick test that is updated daily.

Training under these protective measures is also possible in the gym. This also applies to sports clubs, team sports in clubs or EMS providers.

However, there are regional differences.

Gym Workout: This applies in the federal states

IN Lower Saxony proof of vaccination, cure or test is no longer necessary. Masks are mandatory in the gym.

3G is currently in effect in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig Holstein and Thuringia.

What should you always pack in your training bag now?

In addition to your access card and sportswear, you should also bring a mouth and nose protector.

You should also take your vaccination card, vaccination certificate or health certificate with you. If you have not been vaccinated or have recovered, get a daily citizen test. It is available e.g. free at all pharmacies.

In almost all federal states, the submission obligation applies to enrollment in the study. It’s easier if you save your certificates in the CovPass app or the Corona-Warn app. Then you always have your proof at hand. You can download both apps here.

At larger studios, you can have vaccination and recovery stored on your access card. This saves you time. When you check in, the display turns green and you can train without any problems.

If your gym does not offer such an option, you should take your ID card with you. This is important so that employees can compare the information with your image and your name.

If your picture appears on the gym access card and your full first and last name is on it, you usually do not need other documents. If you used a nickname or middle name when you first signed up, you may need to show ID.

case study: Konstanin-Alexander Müller is in the CovPass app. On the access card, however, Koni Müller.

For the operators, a task is not immediately clear. It is better to change the name of the access card here or to show an identification document.
