Bracelets are available in different materials from silicone to leather. So if you find the typical look of a gym too boring, you have a choice here.
Fitbit Versa 3 has all the usual features on board for sports enthusiasts. The fitness watch tracks 20 different training modes and informs you in real time about the distance traveled and speed. The accompanying app assesses your current fitness level and suggests individual goals.
There is also a heart rate monitor integrated in the watch that you can keep an eye on your heart rate with. Fitbit sets the battery life to six days. Thanks to the fast charging function, the watch should also be ready for use again in twelve minutes. Fitbit Versa 3 is priced at 200 euros. A good value for money package!

You can travel even cheaper with the new Huawei Watch Fit. The fitness watch is available for less than 100 euros. Nevertheless, the smartwatch offers several fitness features such as heart rate measurement and oxygen saturation. You can also track your favorite sports thanks to 97 different sports modes. In addition to running, swimming and cycling, this also includes, for example, jumping ropes.
If you want, you can view animated workouts on the 1.64-inch AMOLED screen. According to Huawei, the watch’s battery lasts up to ten days. With activated GPS, however, the driving time is reduced to twelve hours.
Apple Watch Series 7: Also great for athletes

iPhone users looking for a fitness watch can not ignore the Apple Watch Series 7. Although Apple does not primarily market the smartwatch as a sports gadget, the watch still has several suitable features.
In addition to measuring blood oxygen levels, you can also use the Apple Watch to take an ECG. Various training modes allow you to track sports such as swimming and running, but also boxing, pilates and bowling. Connected to headphones, the watch will tell you via voice output when you have achieved certain goals.
The smartwatch also automatically recognizes when you start training and reminds you to turn on tracking. A useful feature of the Apple Watch is the combination of fall detection and emergency call feature. This gym also helps you if something goes wrong. However, the Apple Watch is not cheap. The watch costs over 400 euros.
Galaxy Watch4: Samsung’s flagship model
Not only informs you about incoming calls, but also about your fitness: Galaxy Watch4.

What the Apple Watch is for iPhone users is the Galaxy Watch4 for owners of Android smartphones. Samsung’s smartwatch is also not explicitly marketed as a fitness watch, but it does offer several features in this area.
For example, Galaxy Watch4 informs you about your body composition such as body fat percentage and muscle. The GPS tracks running or cycling routes and with a total of 90 training programs you can measure different sports – from jogging to golf. Heart rate, oxygen saturation and ECG can also be called up with the fitness watch and give you not only an insight into your fitness but also into your health. Unlike the Apple Watch Series 7, the Galaxy Watch4 is priced in the middle with a price range of between 200 and 300 euros.
Polar Vantage V2: measures heart rate with chest strap
Unlike the fitness watches presented so far, the Polar Vantage V2 is completely focused on sports. For example, the fitness watch informs runners about how many watts each of their steps generates. The watch also helps you check if your legs are recovered enough for an intense workout, or if you need to take a longer break to recover.
At the end of the workout, the gym not only provides information about the general calorie consumption, but also uses the heart rate to calculate in detail how much fat, carbohydrates and proteins have been consumed. In addition, the watch can be combined with Polar’s chest belt heart rate monitor if a more accurate measurement is important to you. Altimeter, coordinates, compass and weather features are additional useful features for exploring new routes. A true all-round package for demanding athletes, which is priced on a par with the Apple Watch.
Garmin Fenix 7: premium watch with solar cells
Garmin Fenix 7 is an absolute luxury model among the fitness watches. The most striking are the solar cells, which are integrated in the display on the wristwatch and ensure a longer battery life. Fenix 7 should last up to 18 days if the wearer is adequately exposed to sunlight. Of course, the watch allows you to train with several training modes, from running and cycling to bouldering.
However, Fenix 7 goes beyond simple training recognition and offers, for example, a special tour app for skiers that provides accurate information about ascent and descent. Mountain bikers, on the other hand, get detailed information about the difficulty level of their chosen trail. Of course, Fenix 7 also offers heart rate measurement and information about the oxygen content of the blood. The fitness watch even keeps an eye on your water balance. Altimeter, compass and barometer help you explore new routes as well as comprehensive maps – even for ski slopes and golf courses.
In other words: This watch leaves nothing to be desired sportingly, but it also costs then. With currently more than 600 euros, the Fenix 7 is not a coup. If it’s too expensive for you, take a look at the Garmin Instinct Solar. The range of features is less extensive but still good and the watch costs less than half. Instinct Solar is also dependent on solar cells and offers an extra long operating time.
