Corona in Lower Saxony: These solutions now apply | NDR.de – News

Status: 04.03.2022 20:20

The corona situation in Lower Saxony remains tense, with an incidence of almost 1,150. As planned, the next level of easing took effect on Friday.

The data initially created confusion. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) initially reported a new high for Lower Saxony with 28,890 new infections within 24 hours. But according to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Health, this is a wrong value. According to a spokesman, about 9,500 cases from the Göttingen area were included. These are “old cases” from recent days and weeks. Therefore, the correct daily value of new infections for Friday must be below 20,000 – and thus roughly in the range of recent days, the spokesman said.

Fewer restrictions for the unvaccinated

Clubs have been allowed to reopen since March 4, 2G-Plus and an FFP2 mask requirement apply at discos and at indoor and outdoor dance events. In addition, people who have not been vaccinated can return to the restaurant with a negative test, and 3G is introduced here. Those who have not been vaccinated are now allowed to attend events with up to 2,000 people once they have been tested. 3G applies indoors and outdoors, the distance rules do not apply. At events with more than 2,000 people, only people who have been vaccinated against the corona virus and who are healthy after an infection are allowed to participate, but who no longer need to be tested further. The 2G rule with immediate effect applies here.

No relief for private meetings with unvaccinated people

The contact restrictions for the unvaccinated still apply: Members of one household plus two other persons from another household may meet privately. Exceptions: children up to 14 years independent of households. Private gatherings of only those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered have been allowed without restrictions since 24 February.

  • Events with 50 to 2,000 people: 3G applies indoors and outdoors without distance rules, FFP2 masks must be worn indoors – except when sitting.
  • Events with more than 2,000 people: 2G applies indoors and outdoors.
  • Clubs and dance events: Will be allowed again. 2G + and FFP2 masks are mandatory indoors and outdoors – except when sitting.
  • Gastronomy: Inside, 3G and FFP2 masks are mandatory – except when sitting.
  • Accommodation: 3G applies indoors and outdoors.
  • sports facilities: No more restrictions, just a requirement for FFP2 mask indoors, except when exercising or sitting.
